The collage looks like the handiwork of Pat D. and Gerry C. and I can hear them cackling now.. The pic below it was done during an I Eat Dinner session. George the dog and Caramel the bunny were also part of Kate’s menagerie back then.

last moon over glengarry
Posted: September 7, 2011 Filed under: Uncategorized 1 Comment »On the night of Aug 12 I filmed the full Moon from our balcony. The next morning in a futile attempt to write music in Garage Band to compliment the grandeur of Nature I learned that a 22 yr old mother and her 3 infants had lost their lives overnight in a horrific fire in the town of Alexandria 2 miles from where I live in Glengarry Co. Ontario. At the end of this 60 sec film there appears to be a small child floating in the heavens.
The sorry house, taken yesterday, one month after the fire, still cordoned off with yellow police tape. Not sure if foul play is suspected. Only the front of the house seems to have burnt.
Ten Fags

Lily and Dane are both growing tobacco. So in the spirit of American Spirit, a package prototype for a new brand of cigarette made from organically-grown Virginia tobacco and aimed at the discriminating smoker. I’m recycling the old water-colour of Sitting Bull I did for Judy Garfin’s class back in the 80s. Very excited about this new venture even though we’ll probably only have enough leaf to make ten fags. And then there are the health warning labels. I’m thinking old tooth and lung x-rays.

Biting Water
Posted: April 20, 2011 Filed under: Uncategorized 2 Comments »I’m feeling a bit nostalgic these days, hence the blue and purple hues that imbue new pellicules. Bert sits in his silken tent at Gardencourt in the Summer of 2008. Bé the dog plays with the hose, bites water. This dog bit everything, including me. Sylvan did the music. I hope he doesn’t mind me borrowing it. Thanks Syl.

Empty carriage on the Via train intercut with pics of Diana’s wedding gown and train. These days it’s hard not to be reminded of Princess Diana’s sad end.
prelim. poster ideas for Kate tribute
Posted: March 18, 2011 Filed under: Uncategorized 2 Comments »Some ideas I had for the Kate tribute in NYC. I was going for that retro folk look. The one that isn’t of Kate is of our grandmother Laury Coté at about age 10 or 11 brandishing a pot-bellied mandolin, probably a prop in the photographer’s studio, though I have a vague recollection of such a mandolin in my grandparents’ country house in Ste-Dorothee, Qc (now part of Laval.) Laury’s hands with their long fingers are so reminiscent of Kate’s.
